Hijama near Haymarket, VA

The hijama room at the HAWA Fairfax Community Center, Fair Lakes

Getting here from Haymarket

From Haymarket the practice is about 17.2 miles away, roughly 24 minutes by car.

From the town centre, by Haymarket Town Hall on Washington Street (Route 55), it is a short way east to I-66 east, and then nearly fourteen miles on the interstate. Leave at the Fairfax County Parkway heading north, then Fair Lakes Parkway. It is about as simple as a trip gets: one road, one exit.

These are clear-road figures from OpenStreetMap routing, checked in October 2026. Weekday rush hour can stretch them a long way, so check your map on the day, just before you leave. On concert nights at Jiffy Lube Live, just down the road in Bristow, the roads around Haymarket can fill up, so check what is on before you book an evening. I-66 has express toll lanes; the regular lanes are free and are fine outside rush hour.

Why it suits Haymarket

Haymarket looks far out on the map, but by the clock it is closer than Arlington. The drive is almost all one interstate, against the heaviest traffic for half the day. If you have been putting off hijama because you assumed the nearest practice was an hour away, it is not: it is under half an hour on a clear road.

When you get to Fair Lakes

The address to put into your phone is 4401 Fair Lakes Ct, Fairfax, VA 22033. We are inside the HAWA Fairfax Community Center, in Room 401a on the fourth floor.

The Fairfax County Parkway exit drops you almost at the door: north for a moment, then Fair Lakes Parkway. The community center is a low, dark-glass building set back behind trees, with a paved path up to the entrance. There is no clinic sign outside, so look for the building, not a sign.

Parking is free. Use the lot outside the building; park anywhere, no permit is needed. The parking lot, the entrance and the restroom are wheelchair accessible, and there is an elevator up to the fourth floor.

Come a few minutes early. A few screening questions come first, then the session; allow about an hour and a half for brothers and two hours for sisters. What to eat, wear and bring is on the booking page.

Who you will see, and what it costs

A woman practitioner for sisters, a man for brothers. Wet cupping (hijama) is $135, dry cupping $115, with a $55 deposit at booking that comes off the price (prices in full). By appointment only; book here. New to hijama? Start with What is Hijama?

Nearby, we have also written up the trip from Gainesville, Manassas and Centreville. Worth reading before you come: is hijama safe? and hijama after childbirth. Or see every area we serve.

Hijama is a traditional practice and is not a substitute for medical care. If you are on medication, pregnant, or unsure for any reason, speak to your doctor first and say so at intake.
